Flash Arrestors are designed to reduce the hammer created when high pressure condensate mixes with lower pressure condensate. A decrease in condensate pressure creates flash steam; whereby, an uncontrolled moderate to high differential pressure will flash, causing vibration and hammer. Envirosep flash arrestors control the creation of flash steam by mixing high pressure condensate through orifices, rather than a single concentrated stream.
