Envirosep’s custom engineered solutions are designed to meet the needs of our customers, deliver long lasting service, and provide real cost savings. In this real world example Envirosep was engaged to design and build a custom wastewater treatment process system to allow a Textile company to increase production, cut costs, and meet regulatory requirements for waste-water discharge.
Textile Company Needs Analysis For Wastewater Treatment Process
• A textile bleaching, dyeing, and finishing plant was periodically exceeding their permitted waste-water flow on an intermittent basis.
• The plant had plans to increase production during the next two years.
• An increase in permitted wastewater flow was not likely due to discharge limitations already in place on the POTW into which the plant discharged wastewater.
• This prompted an exploration of ways to reduce water consumption to allow for production increases.
• The bleaching and scouring processes that process cotton fabric were concluded to be a highly probable area for water reuse due to their consistent wastewater quality, continuous flow rates, and minimal make-up of contaminants.
• Membrane technology was piloted to determine the feasibility.
Solution
A custom engineered Wastewater Heat Recovery System from Envirosep allowed the customer to reuse the waste-water in the manufacturing process thus reducing waste-water output into the POTW, meeting regulatory requirements, while at the same time allowing increased production capacity and lower costs.
Listed below are the annual realized cost savings for the Wastewater Treatment Process engineered and built by Envirosep.
System Parameters

Fuel $91,06l
Waste-water $55,566
Total Savings $173,865
Net Annual Savings = $115,500
The textile customer realized intangible benefits of increased production without increasing waste-water output plus the avoidance of regulatory delays, approvals, and potential lawsuits. The customer realized the added savings and environmental benefits by implementing Envirosep Heat Recovery technology into the wastewater treatment process.
